My name is Leah Stewart and I am a counsellor who specializes in working with youth and adults affected by trauma, life stressors, grief/loss, relationship issues, anger issues, anxiety, depression, ADHD and other mental health concerns. I received my Masters degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Victoria and am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counselling.
I work to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients to explore life circumstances, emotions, thoughts and behaviours. I enjoy helping my clients identify the obstacles that are standing between them and their goals.
In my practice, I utilize several types of counselling including Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focussed Brief Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Couples Therapy, Family Therapy or Mediation and Grief and Loss Counselling.
Regardless of the type of counselling used, I from a client-centered and collaborative approach to ensure you feel supported by confidentiality, understanding and respect. My hope is to help people to identify areas of their life that are not working for them or things they would like to change in order to create positive changes towards a more enjoyable life.
