and Clinical Supervision
Whether you are feeling stuck, struggling to cope with a traumatic experience, dealing with mental health concerns including ADHD, or struggling through grief, these can all prevent happiness, connection in relationships and interfere with your ability to cope in day to day life. Counselling can help you to explore what is contributing to or complicating your struggles and help you to find ways to alter your thoughts, internal talk, responses, and or behaviours to help create meaningful change in your life. I work to create a counselling environment where you can feel free to talk about anything without worrying about being judged, criticized, or encountering consequences for speaking openly about your life. I assure you that you are not broken, damaged or defective, we are all doing the best we can with what we have and sometimes we need a little support from someone outside of our daily life to better understand and overcome our struggles. We will only focus on what is important to you to ensure that our work is directly linked to the changes you are looking to see in your life. If this sounds like it could help you, please feel free to connect to arrange a free phone consultation to talk about how I might be able to support you.
Appin Counselling services primarily take place on the traditional occupied land of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples. I acknowledge this to call attention to the ongoing genocides of Indigenous people by Canada including, but not limited to: the apprehension of children, Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls, systemic racism and suppression of languages and cultures. A portion of each session fee collected by Appin Counselling is donated to the Lower Mainland Reciprocity trust in hopes to work to offset in a very small way our use of stolen land.
